I'm piggybacking on this review because i had to comment: That Borges story is actually very short, only a few pages, and i think it's in Garden of the Forking Paths? I don't know, i read it in a book of all his fiction (which is a great deal, actually.) http://www.amazon.com/Borges-Collected-Fictions-Jorge-Luis/dp/0140286802/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215476029&sr=8-1 Anyway, this is the story: http://web.archive.org/web/20041109092837/http://www.english.swt.edu/cohen_p/avant-garde/Literature/Borges/Menard.html though it's not the translation i read. Oh, what a glorious mindfuckery it is, and isn't it always, with Borges?
(Also, my overall review is only semicoherent and mostly goes, "BFSAEUFASs/fasdkjfhf." My brain kept forgetting to put the right characters in (like for some reason i kept imagining the guy who's supposed to be Ian as Ross and Gareth back as Ian) but brains are fickle that way.)
