We did a lot of condo-shopping this past weekend, mostly just looking at neighbourhoods and frantically writing down addresses while the people behind us honked their horns. Mum's a little happier about me living in Edgewater now that she's seen that it's not all ghetto-fabulous and there are some really nice places once you cross the El tracks. Not that I mind living in what we affectionately call the Theatre Ghetto, but she does, and she's putting up the money to move, so that's all right.

We looked at one place where I would dearly love to live just because it looks like a CASTLE, but as it turns out it's a historic home that's been converted to condos which start at half a million dollars, so that will have to wait until I'm a famous playwright and can afford to live in a CASTLE. I expect success any day now. I have tea waiting for him when he arrives.

The main issue is that our budget is in the range of 80-120 thousand dollars, and the kind of place my parents would prefer I live in starts at about 200 thousand. So I'm visiting a lot of condos next week that are WAY out of my range but I don't care, it'll be fun to pretend I'm tremendously wealthy.

Clearly my destiny is to win the lottery and spend the rest of my life living in luxury and writing fanfic.
