So, I don't get to eat lunch today (AND IT IS SUSHI DAY, OH THE UNFAIRNESS) because Interim SupremeBoss called a meeting and literally the only time I could attend was on my lunch hour, because of *handwave* whatever.

Although perhaps it's better this way. Everything I eat lately makes me nauseous, and I couldn't bear to be nauseated by spicy tuna maki.

Anyway, while I'm in a meeting, entertain yourselves!

[livejournal.com profile] adina_atl, who always writes excellent fic, wrote White Collar fic you should read. (My Three Things will be late; I don't have cable, so I don't get to watch till a day after everyone else.)

[livejournal.com profile] jay_peregrine, who is in a financial bind, is selling off part of a Neil Gaiman collection, some of which are extremely rare. If you're a Gaiman fan or a philanthropist or both, check out the sales post here.

ARGH MEETING *runs*
Okay, establishing my street cred as the internet's clueless old man: before today I did not know who Corey Haim was.

Many people have attempted to explain to me why he is significant, including my boss, but all that I can gather about him is that he was in a vampire film in the 80s and had a friend who was also named Corey. Clearly he had the best PR guy ever.

Also, I am LOL: apparently the Author Blog Awards are open, for authors who connect to their readers in interesting and engaging ways via The Internetz. I'd nominate myself, because I think the whole Extribulum concept is reasonably interesting and engaging, but you have to do advertising and buttons and banners and what-all, and that's annoying to my readers. So I have decided that I am a better author for not being a part of the Author Blog Awards.

(I don't know, is the amount of swearing I do on here considered "explicit" and therefore disqualifying? Shit.)
OH MY GOD YOU GUYS

AREN'T YOU GLAD I GOT YOU INTO THIS SHOW

(If you were already into this show, sorry, but you shouldn't care that I just said that because your mind should still be blown by the awesome.)

It's time for Sam's Three Things About White Collar, Episode 1.14: Out Of The Box )

3a. Ever since I saw it in preview I have been thinking about Mozz's speech on how guys like him and Neal don't get storybook endings; I love his pragmatism and Neal's romanticism both. I don't want misery and despair for an end, but I don't want the storybook either -- I want adventures forever, another heist always looming, another battle to fight. Call me Peter Pan all you want but for me, as the audience, that IS happily ever after. I like that Mozz acknowledges the life they chose is not going to lead them down certain paths, but I like also that Neal thinks it can, and I like that the message of their interaction is that you can find joy in places you didn't expect.

Hope. I am for it.
