Apr. 16th, 2010 12:38 pmI am exhausted and sore this morning, but at least not as exhausted and sore as yesterday. I don't know if my chiropractor actually does anything for my pain level, but the massage therapist she employs definitely helps.
Massage therapy's different from relaxation massage, in that it's not supposed to make you feel good immediately. It hurts, pretty continually, and I'm sore for two days after, but it's worth it because it hurts less than I hurt before it happens. And I suspect I was in more pain than I paid attention to, just now, given how overwhelmed-by-essentially-nothing I've been lately. I have quite a high tolerance for pain, so sometimes I don't notice when I am in it.
The last couple of months I've also always had easy distractions at my fingertips -- Charitable Getting, then Your Face Is Turned and Condition of Release. What remains now is hard stuff, like rewriting CG. Which is SUCKING OUT LOUD by the way, this is the hardest rewrite in the history of EVER, and I'm sullen about it even though I know it has to be done. The damn thing's like a piece of clockwork. I can't adjust one thing without a cascade of other changes, and it's making me insane.
From now on, no more than two protagonists and three supporting characters in any book I write. NEW RULE.
