I have spent most of today enraged, and frankly it's exhausting.

It's almost entirely irrational anger, too, so I don't know what's up with that. In an effort to try and calm the hell down, I made a list of all the things I was angry at and tried to figure out why and what I could do about it. The list included but was not limited to: everyone involved with the filming of Transformers III, everyone who came to gawp at the filming of Transformers III, tourists, everyone I work with (seriously, do I come stand in your cubicle and make inane observations about the filming of what is likely, given past evidence, to be a terrible film? No? Then gtfo my lobby), and about half the internet. (Not you guys. This was elsewhere.)

Basically the list boiled down to two emotions:

1. I know better than everyone.
2. I am more mature and considerate than everyone.

Now, I know these things are not actually true. I don't even know better than most of the people reading this, let alone everyone, and I can be truly remarkably immature and inconsiderate when the mood strikes. But even if we were to posit that these things are true, should I not be feeling a sense of smug superiority rather than boundless fury? Why do I keep trying to kill people with my brain? And why doesn't it work?

Anyway, I'm going to take a nap. Well, it worked when I was five, you never know.
