Today's origami, which I did yesterday, was a mouse. But it was a stupid-looking mouse. It looked like a monorail train car, and after being ruthlessly mocked for my abstract horse, I knew I had to do something about it. So I went looking for other, better mice. I HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY.

And this is what I came up with.

Monorail Mouse is, of course, the one from the calendar. Bunny Mouse was the most complicated, not least because what few hints and tricks there were for it were in German.

Prawnmouse is supposed to have front feet. I think he looks funnier as HALF CRUSTACEAN, HALF RODENT.

I like Tailmouse best. As the name suggests, he's the only one who has a proper tail. On the other hand, I'm reasonably sure I did the ears wrong. Shit is complicated, yo.

In the end, I had them: my own little family of mildly deformed origami mice. I think secretly they fight crime.

Tailmouse is clearly the brains of the operation.
It's Wednesday, it's January, that means it must be time for SOME THREE THINGS.

3a. I'm pretty sure Elizabeth had catering in for their little Top Secret Meeting, owing to the fact that all the sandwiches in the (hilariously giant) basket of sandwiches on the table had fancy little toothpicks in them. Because Elizabeth is the most awesome.
When I see my dentist for my twice-yearly checkup, he always gives me one of those little care packages with a flyer on Good Dental Hygiene and a toothbrush and a toothpaste sample.

This time, the toothpaste he gave me was "MAXIMUM STRENGTH Clinical Sensitivity Relief Toothpaste" for "Extreme Oral Sensitivity".

I feel, vaguely, as if my manhood has been impugned.
As I have had emails, and as it is well worth the recc:

For the record, I didn't write Pairing: Pendragon/Merlin. I did spend all afternoon laughing my ass off while reading it.

It's technically written for the Merlin kinkmeme but there's no actual kink and as some have said it reads perfectly well as fandom meta -- it's a story about fandom and the funny shit we do and the weird dynamics we create with one another. The author utterly nailed the occasionally slightly fraught dance between a good beta and a receptive writer, and the romance is sweet.

In all: this is sometimes what my life is like, and probably sometimes what your life is like, too. :) It's worth a read.

LOVE FOR MY BETAS, YO. Just...not like that.
