Good morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!

Ways To Give:

[personal profile] jetsilver linked to [community profile] help_for_ephemere, a charity auction and fundraiser to help support [personal profile] ephemere, a talented artist who is having a very rough time in the wake of losing her job, home, and good relations with her family due to homophobia. Please stop by and see if there is anything you'd like to bid on, or offer something for auction yourself!

[personal profile] commodorified linked to a fundraiser for [profile] lasergirl69, who has been having a hard time of it mentally and financially and needs a new pair of derby skates to keep up the sport that's keeping her sane.

Anon linked to a funeral fund for Gisela Gagliardi, the fan who was struck by a car and killed while at Comic Con (literally -- I thought she was just struck while in the vicinity but she was at the Con when it happened) this past week. There's an account of what happened here.

[livejournal.com profile] kallaneboi linked to a fundraiser for the Robbins Public Library in Illinois, whose AC unit was stolen this past week. This happens to libraries a lot in the summer, and it's a huge shame because libraries are "cooling stations" where people without AC (or homes) can go to keep cool without being called loiterers.

[personal profile] norah linked to Matt, the owner of a Chicago comic book store, who is raising money selling geek-themed paintings to pay for treatment for his cat's cancer. Check it out!

[livejournal.com profile] anandangel linked to [livejournal.com profile] minervacat, who is in the process of becoming a full time rock photographer. She's raising funds to help with travel costs to and from Minneapolis to shoot stills and video for a professional rock documentary.

[personal profile] cereta linked to a fundraiser to keep the new gay marriage law in Washington State from being overturned.

[livejournal.com profile] mycatsellsclues linked to a kickstarter to support the film A Place To Stand, an adaptation of the autobiography of Jimmy Santiago Baca, which chronicles his journey "transformation from a functionally illiterate convict to an award-winning poet, novelist and screenwriter."

Books!

[livejournal.com profile] mamculuna linked to [livejournal.com profile] masqthephlsphr's first (and self-published, yay self-publishing!) novel, Dis/inhibition. "Two pairs of women, one an established couple and the other a transgressive pair try work to out issues of control and self-control in relationships while dealing with parents and others." It looks great!

[livejournal.com profile] ozisim linked to a Trifle Competition to promote A Trifle Dead, which sounds like quite a fun mystery novel. That's right you heard me. Trifle makers, share your recipes.

Fans Helping Fans:

[personal profile] holli is looking for fan-friendly housemates in College Park, MD.

Ailelie, whose Kickstarter campaign to fund Plunge Magazine I RFM'd a while ago, is now accepting submissions! Plunge is an online literary magazine focusing on queer women in genre fiction, and the first issue's focus is on Queer Women in Mythology. You can check out the submission guidelines here and submit work here.

Just For Fun:

[livejournal.com profile] aliciajd linked to Steampunk Cakes!

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can always post items for my attention in comments here (or on any post) or email me at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!). Remember, brevity is the soul of RFM.

OH LOOK IT IS A FANFIC.

I still don't know why I even wrote this. I've dusted it off and then given up on it like three times. Hopefully it's been worth the effort...

In some ways, this particular genderswap is canon; Marvel has explicitly mentioned in a relatively recent issue that Reed Richards found an alternate universe where "Natasha" Stark and Steve Rogers married and this somehow averted the Civil War event.

Subtle, Marvel.
